  1. War Wounds

I got my first severe cooking war wound yesterday. It was bound to happen sooner or later. I was making a Persian lamb stew in my tagine. When I lifted off the top, it slipped out of my hand and fell onto the stew mixture (cast iron stewing for 2 hours, with an olive oil base). The boiling oil-based liquid splashed all over my jeans.. which was good and bad. Good because I can’t imagine what degree my burns would have been without some of that protection, and bad because the hot liquid was just sitting there on the jean burning my leg until I took my pants off.. which was pretty much absolute torture. Today I have 4 dark welts and 2 blisters. Its too gross to take a picture of. I ended up losing my appetite and not even eating the stew. I tried it though.. It was beyond yummy.

    Update:

    I took a picture.
