Hope you all had a relaxing and yummy memorial day weekend. I had a great time. Jacob and I made an awesome chuck roast chili on Saturday and caught up on movies and hung out with the pups. Sunday we went to my parent’s lake house for the usual gigantor bbq where we contributed a 10-hour smoked pork shoulder (Jacob) and a spinach-pesto, pea, pasta salad (me).

The dogs like adventuring in the lake.. Ralphie figured out that he could go around the fence to the neighbor’s yard very simply through the lake.. argh! Violet is an agility champ hiking through rocks. I can’t wait to take them hiking sometime. Maybe next year we’ll take them to Aspen for the Food and Wine festival.

Yesterday we had a chill bbq at Jacob’s parent’s. Heather and Brian brought some awesome treats.

Yesterday we also got a call from our pool guy telling us that our front door was open.. Our house got broken into. :’(

At least they stole the $800 tv vs. the $1500 one. Creepy nonetheless.

Why does Rachael Ray have to make so many dramatic hand gestures in her introductions? I’m not really sure how anyone can watch the show without getting a major headache. Her hand gestures, her very loud voice, her accent, her very loud voice again, her obnoxious small talk, the fact that she has to say E-V-O-O even though she always says extra virgin olive oil immediately after. And whats up with her tucking her shirt into her jeans in every single episode since 1999?

Katyn Anniversary, April 13, Krakow

“April 13th is the anniversary of the day in 1943 that the Nazis released news of the discovery of bodies of Polish officers in the woods near Katyn, Poland. The mass graves were the site where over 20,000 Polish officers had been murdered by the Soviets in 1940, in what became known as the Katyn Massacre.”
