Today started out with brunch, shopping and photography in soho. We even stopped in the ever fascinating Dean and Deluca. Later we were off to the MoMA. They had an amazing gallery of modern architecture.
Tonight we’re going to Jean-George’s (gasp!). He’s only my single most influential culinary idol. nbd.
And then.. meeting up with people. Maybe you?
When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you’re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you’re in the right state of mind?
I think I have only done this once and I don’t regret it, but I am sure someone in the world needs this. Now if this could be invented for txtmsg I might be down. In the last week I have sent the following unnecessary txts to Rachel, “I am lazy and sleeping on a raincoat” and “Try and get Lil’ Kim to sleep with me.” Not really sure what either of the mean, but I know that they both involved sleeping.
I’ll be spending Halloween weekend in the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
Activities planned so far: cheesemaking, clay course shooting, flyfishing and yoga.
On Saturday we bought half a pig with another couple. Jacob and Andy worked hard all day for two days, to get our pig into edible sized pieces. It was a super interesting process, and made me really appreciate the people that do it.
Now we have pounds and pounds of fresh pork. Yesterday we made over 30 pounds of homemade smoked sausage. Today I’m brining a pork loin, ham and making salt pork for the weekend.
Jacob and I are thinking about having an Oktoberfest party this weekend, so everyone can sample our yummy creations. The sausage is seriously amazing.
