Hope you all had a relaxing and yummy memorial day weekend. I had a great time. Jacob and I made an awesome chuck roast chili on Saturday and caught up on movies and hung out with the pups. Sunday we went to my parent’s lake house for the usual gigantor bbq where we contributed a 10-hour smoked pork shoulder (Jacob) and a spinach-pesto, pea, pasta salad (me).

I got my first severe cooking war wound yesterday. It was bound to happen sooner or later. I was making a Persian lamb stew in my tagine. When I lifted off the top, it slipped out of my hand and fell onto the stew mixture (cast iron stewing for 2 hours, with an olive oil base). Yesterday my phone dropped calls four times in a 20 minute period. Good thing my Blackberry ships on Monday.
