I just got an email from Sam from Denver and he linked to this blog post on crunchy people.. just in case you were wondering too. Happy Monday.
So I was thinking about my last post, and was wondering what people were saying about American culture and I ran across this pretty entertaining article by New York Times columnist David Brooks. Here’s a selection.
“While global economies are converging, cultures are diverging, and the widening cultural differences are leading us into a period of conflict, inequality and segmentation....

I think that there’s some slight entertainment value in this site, but I mostly just find it embarassing. I just don’t understand how people are so willfully identifying these stereotypes and translating them into comedy. Why don’t we see the same thing happening in Europe? Like there might be a ‘stufffrenchpeoplelike’ but never anything to do with race or religion....
If you’re single and into hot girls..
The hottest single girl in chi city is Megan Hauserman.
Hit on her on myspace. If she dates you.. maybe we’ll hang out. :)
A Thin Silver Lining to Antarctic Ice Collapse →
‘News of the disturbing collapse of a 160-square-mile piece of western Antarctic ice was mildly reassuring in one way: the chunk itself wouldn’t immediately start to melt, or unleash glaciers into the sea. “Scientists said they are not concerned about a rise in sea level from the latest event, but say it’s a sign of worsening global warming,” reported the...

The changing of the season kind of takes my mind back to last spring and what was going on last year. Today I’m filled with incredible appreciation. Life is so much better. I’m overwhelmed at the response and support from you guys.. I never expected that. I’m forever indebted to Jacob for risking everything so that we could have a better life.. and we do. I’m in awe at the...
Workplace Harassment -New York Times →
”..the work bully sets out on a course of constant but subtle harassment. It may start with a belittling comment at a staff meeting. Later it becomes gossip to co-workers and forgetting to invite someone to an important work event.” LMFAO
“Some victims become physically ill from the stress, with depression, anxiety and even symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.”

Its 50 degrees and sunny in Chicago today.. you just can’t beat that on a Friday. We close on the office next week. Our architectural plans are all ready to go, so we’ll start construction in the next couple of weeks! We also close on our house in Key West at the beginning of April, so we’re plenty busy.. especially with Jacob’s new real estate ventures in Aspen or Boulder...
The world's 50 most powerful blogs →
I’m totally amazed that icanhascheezburger is NUMBER 8!! I saw them at SXSW. They were hilarious. And awesome.
I just saw Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote. I was really impressed by his improved interviewee skills. The unforunate part was that he was was interviewed by a woman named Sarah Lacey. She apparently wrote a book about him. Long story short.. she was heckled so bad it was embarassing. I guess she didn’t realize her nonchalant teasing of Mark would be received so poorly among 2,000 of his...

Airborne doesn't work. →
Great.. so I’m all ready to go to SXSW and have my airborne ready like you all suggested, and this morning I read this-
“A Settlement has been proposed in a class action lawsuit that alleges that Airborne Health, Inc. (and other defendants) (“Airborne”) falsely advertised certain therapeutic properties, including the ability to cure or prevent the common cold, when marketing products...
